Welcome to Tavistock Area Christians Together (TACT).

We are a fellowship of Christian churches serving Tavistock and the surrounding area. Although our churches belong to different traditions and denominations, we share one purpose. Together, we worship God, follow Jesus Christ and serve our community.

Everyone is welcome. Whether you are looking for a church, exploring Christianity or simply want to learn more about our local churches, we hope this website helps you find what you are looking for.

 

Working Together

Tavistock Area Christians Together encourages churches to work together in friendship, worship and service.

Our churches support many community projects across Tavistock. These include the Foodbank, Street Pastors, School Pastors, Healing Rooms, school mentoring, community celebrations and many other local initiatives. As a result, we can reach more people and provide practical support where it is needed most.

Every church has its own traditions and style of worship. However, we all share the same faith in Jesus Christ. We also share the same desire to serve others with love, compassion and hope.

A Rich Christian Heritage

Christian worship has shaped Tavistock for more than one thousand years.

The Benedictine Abbey, founded in AD 974, became a centre of prayer, learning and hospitality. Although the Abbey closed in 1539, its influence continues today. Churches across Tavistock still serve the community through worship, friendship, pastoral care and practical support.

Today, TACT builds on that rich heritage. Together, our churches continue to work side by side while looking confidently to the future.
